Hello,
I’m Chloë, I live in south east England and I like eating and talking. I went to art school, twice in fact, so I know all about pictures and I can draw and make things. Sometimes I even make money from making, or from writing about, arty stuff. I’m also quite a good cook.
My mum taught me how to cook, first by making food with me, and later when she had to use a wheelchair, by telling me what to do. Dad helped too, but he was more the ‘wave a jar under your nose, and have you guess what it contains’ kind of cookery teacher. My parents died when I was in my early twenties, and while some find comfort in the thought of meeting lost loves in the afterlife, I do so in the kitchen instead. I cook Dad’s saag prawn to cheer me, and Mum’s leek and potato soup to cure me.
I have a daughter of my own now, aged one, and it is with her and my folks in mind that I have decided to start this blog. I want to keep a record of the meals that I make for my family day-to-day because I want us to eat healthily, and broadly, and ethically, but I don’t want to spend a fortune. I want to make our meal times interesting, with the hope that I can help my daughter grow up to love food, but not be obsessed by it. I want to be inspired, and learn how to make delicious meals I have never tasted before. And I want to share my best discoveries with you, so that you might enjoy them too.
Thank you for stopping by. If you feel like saying hello too, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Hello! I’ve just found your blog and have that same fantastic feeling as when I read the first page of a novel and realise I’m going love it. Settling in for a really, really story. Thanks.
